Love can makes someone be blind and take a risk. Even sometimes someone who’s falling in love can easily say a promise and do something to make her/his lovely person happy without thinking twice the risks. That’s approximately the view of this drama-movie which has a fairytale setting.
In a village named Wall which stand next to Fairy Land, there’s a guy named Tristran Thorn (Charlie Cox). He’s falling in love with Victoria Forester (Sienna Miller), the most beautiful girl in the village. Because of his desperately love, one night Tristran promised to the girl that he will bring a falling star for her.
So, to prove his promise, he left the village and got an adventure to the Fairy Land; a mysterious and forbidden place behind the boundary wall. In this adventure, he got lots of experiences, met many people who have the same direction with him, and met many kind of mysterious people. Because of the songs that he was usually heard while he was a child, he could escape from the dangers. And finally, he found what he has been looking for, the falling star which had changed into a girl named Yvaine (Claire Danes).
Unfortunately, there’s some people who also wanted to get the falling star, they are Captain Shakespeare (Robert DeNiro), a pirate who’s going to leads Stormhold, and a wicked witch from Lilim community, Lamia (Michelle Pfeiffer). Tristran has to face the witch, fairies, and mysterious people to get what he has been looking for, because he finally found his true love, Yvaine.
