The twins Simon and Jared (both played by Freddie Highmore), and their older sister Mallory (Mary-Louise Parker) are the siblings who had just moved to an old house in the Spiderwick Estate with their mother.
One day, Jared heard some mysterious voices in the wall. This is the beginning of their adventures. They found a secret door to a room that was belong to their great-grandfather, Arthur Spiderwick, who was stayed in the house 80 years ago.
In the Arthur’s room, Jared found a sealed book with a warning to not to open the book. But his curiousness made him opened it. And suddenly, Mallory got an accident in her room.
The one who did that obviously is a little fairy named Thumbletack. This fairy is just a little part of Arthur’s world that can’t be seen by the ‘ordinary’ people. In Arthur’s book, there’s a lot of fairies and more others astonishing creatures, included an evil-ogre named Mulgarath.
This Mulgarath is the one who always looking for the Arthur’s book. Jared, Simon, and Mallory have to try so hard to keep the book safe in their hands, not in Mulgarath’s. This thing becomes harder when they have to face the truth that these creatures are invisible over all. Whereas, these monsters are ready to defeat each of them anytime they come out of the house.
